We are proud to be a feminist organisation and, as feminists, we believe that violence against women is a cause and consequence of women’s inequality. We believe in educating boys and men not to be violent, as opposed to teaching women and girls to protect themselves from violence. We believe that to be feminist is also to be antiracist and opposed to all types of oppression, one of the root causes of violence. We cannot end one form of violence without ending all forms; antiracism work is a vital component of our work to eliminate sexual violence, so is the fight against misogyny, homophobia, xenophobia and transphobia.

We encourage our workforce and community to have the conversations that make men uncomfortable and that make white people uncomfortable, to change the systems and structures that disproportionately work for white, cis, male, heterosexual, able-bodied people. We need to think about the people outside of those categories - they are not being served adequately and they are being denied access to resources. Both as an organisation and together as a community, we need to create change by questioning existing narratives and creating new cultures.
